Super simple photo grid

This is one of the easiest projects ever. It seemed like it took me forever, but I was waiting for my photos to come in the mail. They were then sent to the wrong address so I had to wait even longer, but that is another story. I finally got them, and all it took was a little masking tape to finish it off!

This was what it looked like the night I started [in terrible lighting].

And now it looks like this!

I feel like this could be an ongoing project. I kind of want to keep adding to it and making it bigger and bigger. I really want to do something like this and frame it, but I have no where to put something like that...for now.

All this project consisted of was taking 35 4x6 prints and cutting them down to 4 inch squares. I then used my level/ruler gadget from my birch tree project and marked off my bottom and left side. I just used the width of the masking tape as spacers and taped each photo on the back of all four corners [to avoid curling]. It was super easy, and if you have all your materials when you start it would go really fast. One of the best things is that it is not going to leave holes in my wall so when I change my mind about that space there will be no evidence it was ever there...unless I decide to draw a faux frame on the wall around it.

Quick, so simple, and cheap project...it doesn't get any better than that!

Business Card designs

Yesterday I started working on redesigning my website and business cards...basically I wanted an entirely new brand. My current [soon to be old] business cards have a bridal portrait on them, and since I have decided against photographing weddings right now...well, I figured that wasn't the best marketing strategy. I also wanted a more fun and casual feel to both. My card was a little too stuffy for me. I have put together 3 business card options right now, and I can't decide which one I like...or if I like any of them enough to print them.

I had to put them on this icky gray box so the white edges didn't just blend into the background.

For the first two I used my own handwriting and the camera eraser stamp combined with the "tiny love stamp" from my last post. I put them into photoshop, changed the color, and created different combinations. I like those two for that reason, but I am just really indecisive. One time I like option 2, but the next time I like the cleaner look of option 3. Any feedback?

Try new things

On Friday I was home from work with all of my really pressing "to-dos" finished so I decided it was time to try a new project. My [amazing, fabulous, hilarious, and fantastic] boss gave me a tub full of supplies from her basement last week. One of the boxes contained several colors of Sculpey clay products...you just sculpt and bake! The closest thing to clay that I have ever used is Play-Doh, but I had a simple project in mind. My sweet friend Jessica is getting married, and I have been planning on sending her something to show how excited I am for her. I thought it would be sweet to make some little personalized charms that she could use as her "something blue".

So I rolled out just a tiny bit of the stuff, used my large Wilton icing tip to cut the circle, and stamped on the letter d [with a vintage stamp I have] and the heart stamp I shared in my last post. I used a toothpick to poke the hole at the top and baked them at 275 degrees for about 14 minutes. Then I let them cool and added the little ring through the hole. I think I will definitely be making more for myself and family members. I want to try some using this stamp.

I will say that I have no idea how well this will hold up, but from the projects I saw at http://www.sculpey.com/ it must be pretty durable. I will be making some charms for myself to test them out.

tiny love stamp

Last Friday I was working on a gift for a friend [that post will come after she receives her gift], and I was really wishing that I had a really small heart stamp...so I made one. I have never even seen a stamp like I was envisioning so I just used a new pencil, sketched on the heart shape, and used my exacto knife to cut out the shape.

It was a super quick project, and it was just what I needed. I love all things miniature, so of course I love the tiny little heart it produces. I think I will be using it a lot for packaging gifts and things.
