In our garden...

So we haven't actually planted our garden yet. That is on the agenda for this week, and I am pretty excited about getting to spend that time together with my mr. However, we do have several pretties [from my birthday trip to the market] growing on our deck. Here are some that were looking especially dapper this evening.

Our crazy dragon plant [a.k.a. Campfire]

We like succulents...a lot.

This is where the magic will happen! I think we are both excited to get started.

I never thought I would enjoy gardening and working in my yard so much. Now I actually wish I had more time for it! Who would have thought?!

Thrifty treasures

Over the weekend I took a little overnight trip with my boss/buddy Mary for a cake meeting in Columbia. I had never been there before, but I will definitely be going back! I saw several antique stores that I wanted to check out, but we only had time for one. Of course I still managed to find some goodies to bring home.

I didn't think I was going to find much at all, but then I walked around the corner to find a huge pile of cameras laying in the floor. Yes..they were actually piled all over the floor. It was exciting but sad that they were not better taken care of. I wish I could have brought them all home with me, but many were more pricey than I could justify. I did, however, find this beauty for just $20. Then, it was 25% off that on tax free day! I am all about a bargain so I was pretty excited.

I actually ended up getting these [below] for half off, so my grand total for the 3 hankies and the camera was $19.50. Heck yeah! [The yellow edged one on top is my favorite]. I will be looking for more hankies in the future to complete a hankie project I have planned.

Last week when I was in Arkansas I scored these two cameras for a grand total of $4.50. The one on the right is a little rough, but I thought it would be a fun one to do some painting on since it is already messed up.

Then we went to my favorite antique store in Batesville, and I got this awesome tray for only $6.00! I like it more and more each time I look at it! I think I may do some rearranging so this can go on the shelf over the bed.

I also scored the neat spools of thread, but I don't know exactly what I will do with them yet.

I have been pretty luck with some great finds here lately. I hope I can continue my luck when we revisit Columbia... and hopefully that will be sooner than later!

Back to photo editing, house cleaning, and prep for the craft show...

pour your heart out...take two

It has probably been a year since I posted a little drawing that I did, and at the time I was pretty proud of it. I later stuck it in a frame, decided I hated it, and threw it away. Luckily, I still had the digital copy because I pulled it back out tonight, did a little work, and now I love it.

Screenshot of the new and improved version after flipping the can, adding a handle to the side, and adding some color.

I started thinking about it on my drive back from Arkansas today, and I knew it would be a perfect print to add to the collection of things I will be selling at the craft show. I have another print in the works, and I am just getting more excited [and a little anxious] about it all the time!

Love Session

I was lucky enough today to get to spend a couple of hours with this sweet couple. They were just too funny.

Staying busy in AR!

It was Easter

So I am in Arkansas, have a hundred things going on, and I am just getting more and more excited about the craft show. I am eager to get back to work on things for that, but I am enjoying my visit with family and the photo sessions from this week.

Even though these may be a little outdated since Easter is over, I thought I would share some of our photos from our egg dying extravaganza on Sunday after church.

He needs supervision...but I kept him from drinking it.

He teases me for wanting to do things like this, but I think know he enjoys it as much or more than me. He is cute, and I love him.

Hopefully next week I will have more time to get things together and share a few of my new ideas that I will be selling at the show. Wish me luck!

Sweet William

I picked this precious little bouquet on Sunday. They smell amazing, and Nicholas later pointed out [after his grandma told me what they were] that these were the same flowers that Laura Ingalls Wilder was so happy to receive from Almanzo. Cute.

Be happy...and sweet!

Easter and stuff

We had a great Easter around here. We had a great church service [not that that is anything new], put up our new umbrella on our deck, took a pie to a sweet, old neighbor, and had a fantastic meal with family.

[This is pretty much the same photo of us as always. I must get someone to take one of us that is farther out than my arm's length!]

This next week will be a very busy one since I am heading down to Arkansas again, and I have a handful of photo sessions lined up. I am looking forward to it all, and then I will back home to get ready for my booth at the Warrensburg craft show on May 12th! I am very excited and nervous about it all. I have plans for paintings, some fabric bunting, cake bunting, party hats, packaging items, and my "let's spoon" print. I have been preparing since I was invited a week ago, and I have lots to do before I am ready. I can't wait though!

Lopez kiddos

I have a lot of stuff going on right now, but I just had to take a quick break and share these photos from yesterday's session. How precious are these kids?! Be prepared...I may not be able to stop sharing them...

Okay, okay...I will stop now. I could post all 85 of them...yes...85. They were so cute. Love these kids!

Be happy!
